By Design

A group of 11 textile artists from the South of England are very pleased to be taking part in the 3rd Lymington Arts Festival.

The work on show has been created in response to the painting Boy with a Bowl of Fruit by Caravaggio and the collection is named 'Chiaroscuro'.

This exhibition shows two pieces from each artist, one having been worked on collaboratively by three others from the group. The resulting hangins make an interesting, inspiring and thought provoking display shown to great effect at the United Reformed Church.

The Lymington Embroiderers Guild

Lymington Embroiderers Guild was established 6 years ago and has gone from strength to strength. The group meets monthly at the Lymington Community Centre for inspirational talks by well known teltile artists. In addition we run textile workshops throughout the year covering a multitude of techniques to suit all abilities. We are a very friendly group of like-minded stitchers. Come as a guest or join our happy group of stitchers.

Diversity Mixed Media and Textiles

Diversity are a group of Textile Artists who are all local to the New Forest and use mixed media with textiles in various ways.

The group piece comes from a consideration of the many ways threads and fibres can be linked to create form and texture and has been worked with colour and size constraints.

Other work is a more personal interpretation of the theme of Linkage.
